"A long-standing Gauteng educator is considering calling it a day after collecting his fortune," Gidani spokesperson Thembi Tulwana said in a statement.
"This is exactly what Lotto is all about: changing people's lives, realising dreams and helping those that are less fortunate."
The statement quotes the winner as saying he could not believe his luck as he watched the numbers being called out.
"I was sitting alone at home watching the draw (on television), and all of a sudden Nimrod (the TV presenter) started calling out my numbers ...
"On the third number, I stood up and I felt like my heart was skipping a beat.
"At the end of it all, I honestly couldn't believe my luck."
The winner said he planned to change his lifestyle.
"I've always heard others talk about the joys of playing golf, and now I can satisfy this dream to network on the golf course."
The winner is an avid churchgoer, and says he intends to share his good fortune with his fellow congregants.
"I want more people to feel and get what I've always felt and received by going to church, and therefore I will donate some of my fortune to my church.
"I love going to church on Sundays and also getting involved in church activities ... Church is a very good place for one to get spiritual guidance." - Sapa
