Communications manager Mark Meyer said Shumana had signed a three-year with Moroka Swallows.
Ajax CEO George Comitis said: "Unfortunately we are losing one of our model players, who has been with us since 2000. He started with our U-15s and worked his way through the ranks of our Youth Development Academy into the PSL team.
"Mfundo was a true Ajax player who has always shown great potential. He went to Amsterdam twice for trials at the Dutch club's request. Unfortunately no contract materialised. We wish him well and we are confident that he will weave his magic at his new club."
