Teen TV star Tumito pursue new goals

YO-TV star Tumisang Voster, 19, also known as Tumi, bade farewell to the channel last Friday to focus on other goals.

YO-TV star Tumisang Voster, 19, also known as Tumi, bade farewell to the channel last Friday to focus on other goals.

Tumi has been a Yo-TV fixture for more than three years, presenting shows such as Chilling, Big Yo, Wild room and Click.

"Being a part of Yo-TV was a blessing but now I want time to find myself, to grow and focus on school and my company," she said.

Tumi was discovered in the Quest4Fame competition when she was just 15 after appearing in a Jet advert.

The second-year marketing student at the University of Johannesburg wants to focus on her company, My T Creations, which she manages with her mother and manager Makhosini Sihlali.

"My T Creations is aimed at empowering young girls from the age of 16 who love the entertainment industry but don't know how to go about making their dreams come true," Tumi said.

She will use her experience to mentor teenagers, giving them professional knowledge and using contacts she developed while presenting.

Tumi also hopes to give motivational talks at schools, showing by example that young girls can be successful.

She dreams of launching a clothing line for women and to venture into radio.

Anyone who wants to contact her can find her on Facebook, she says.
