POLICE are investigating the death of two people at Gomoro informal settlement, in Plessislaer, outside Pietermaritzburg, after the two bodies were discovered by a relative yesterday morning.

POLICE are investigating the death of two people at Gomoro informal settlement, in Plessislaer, outside Pietermaritzburg, after the two bodies were discovered by a relative yesterday morning.

Senior Superintendent Henry Budhram said police received a report about a suspected murder and suicide at the Gomoro informal settlement at about 10am.

"On arrival, police were shown a man hanging from the rafters in a room and a woman lying on the floor," Budhram

"Investigations established that the bodies were discovered by a relative, who had gone there to borrow a primus stove.

"The relative found the door locked, peeped through the window and saw the bodies before phoning the police."

The deceased have been identified as Thembiso Fo Mgobhozi, 29, and Phindile Ndela, 30.
