THE DA in KwaZulu-Natal has expressed dissatisfaction after six of the province's 10 MECs were absent from the provincial legislature on Tuesday during the first question session since the polls.

Party chief whip in the legislature Radley Keys described the act as "contempt of the House".

MECs absent were Nomusa Dube of local government and traditional affairs; Willies Mchunu of community safety and liaison; Meshack Hadebe of social development; Sibongiseni Dhlomo of health; Mike Mabuyakhulu of economic development and tourism and Maggie Govender of human settlements and public works.

Keys said only Dhlomo was reported to be sick.
