Heric parts ways with Winners

SERBIAN coach Vladislav Heric left Winnerspark before coaching them in an official match.

SERBIAN coach Vladislav Heric left Winnerspark before coaching them in an official match.

The wily yet underrated Serbian coach who joined Winnerspark six weeks ago, left the ambitious National First Division Inland Stream club yesterday after he failed to reach an agreement that would have kept him in Seshego for the new season.

He entered into an interim arrangement with Winnerspark on his arrival, which was hailed by many supporters of the club.

Heric is the man who helped Black Leopards, the controversial NFD club from Venda, to avoid relegation last season.

He also proved his coaching nous when he led Bay United to the Absa Premiership, but it's history that Umlilo got relegated from the elite league after they sacked the colourful Serbian.

"It is true that I'm no longer with Winnerspark and am looking for a new team," Heric told Sowetan yesterday.

"I could not agree with some clauses in their contract and as a result I could not sign it. There is no bad blood between the two of us, my only challenge was the contract and I wish them the best of luck for their new season."

Winnerspark's chief executive Paxley Aphane pleaded ignorance about Heric's surprise departure from the team.
