THE strikes taking place throughout the country are in "no way" an attack on President Jacob Zuma's government, Cosatu president Sdumo Dlamini said at the weekend.

"Cosatu is not a threat to ANC government," he said.

Dlamini said certain people had misinterpreted the wave of strikes as an attack on the ANC government.

"Actually, there's a good relationship between us and ANC government, something we have not seen in a very long time,"Dlamini said.

"Unlike before we are now able to sit down and discuss issues.

"We are the ones who mobilised workers to put the government in power and it is the government we will always support to put our aspirations as the country goes forward."

But Dlamini took a swipe at corrupt leaders.

"Corruption is one problem that could derail this government," he said.
