Ex-spook to plead for 3 murders

FORMER National Intelligence Agency officer and bodyguard Dumisani Sikhakhane has been given more time to prepare for his plea on a charge of triple murder.

FORMER National Intelligence Agency officer and bodyguard Dumisani Sikhakhane has been given more time to prepare for his plea on a charge of triple murder.

Sikhakhane, 45, was arrested and charged with the murder of his ex-wife, new husband and their teenage daughter in Kempton Park nearly three years ago.

He has yet to plead to the charge of triple murder as he was earlier sent to a mental institution in Sterkfontein where he had to be evaluated.

Yesterday, the South Gauteng high court in Johannesburg postponed the matter to September 18 when he is expected to plead.

The state alleges that in August 2006, his ex-wife Dikeledi Manyama went to Sikhakhane's house with her new husband Sibusiso Jackson.

There an argument broke out between Manyama and Sikhakhane, which ended with the latter allegedly shooting his visitors.

He is also accused of shooting his daughter Zanele, who was also in the house.

They all died at the scene.
