Usuthu sign Dlamini, eye several foreigners

AMAZULU have bolstered their attack by acquiring the services of Ayanda Dlamini.

The 24-year-old striker is among the five players Usuthu intend to sign before the new season kicks off next month.

Dlamini has penned a three-season contract.

Spokesperson Philani "Zane" Mabaso said of the highly promising forward: "He is a good player and we are certain that he will make a difference in the team.

"This season is going to be one of the toughest, considering that it has been shortened because of the World Cup, so we need to be on our toes from the first game."

Mabaso said the technical team was still weighing up its options regarding which of the two strikers, Ghanaian Runic Abdul-Aziz and Brazilian Christian dos Santos, to sign.

Abdul-Aziz is reported to have impressed Usuthu's technical team during the uThukela district tournament they won on Sunday.

"We have an option of signing one more foreigner, so the decision will be made this week."

AmaZulu, who are mentored by Neil "Mokoko" Tovey, could also capture midfielder Rafui Salawuddeen and defender Abdullah Ishaka, both of Nigeria.
