Widow to deny court evidence

MULALO Sivhidzho's murder trial was postponed to next Monday as one of the assessors was unavailable.

Sivhidzho is expected to present her evidence in her trial-within-a-trial in which she wants the statement she made to police thrown out of court. She claims that she was tortured and "forced into confessing" by the police.

Sivhidzho has pleaded not guilty to hiring people to kill her husband, Avhatakali Netshisaulu, the son of former newspaper editor Mathatha Tsedu, in 2007.

Netshisaulu was robbed, assaulted and locked inside the boot of his car before it was set alight. He was burnt beyond recognition. - Dudu Busani
