One dies, one hurt in accident

PARAMEDICS were called to the scene of a horrific accident on Newlands West Drive, Durban, yesterday morning.

Two vehicles had collided and one of the drivers died on the scene owing to the severity of his injuries.

The other driver was seriously injured. He was treated on the scene and later taken to a local hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, four fishermen narrowly escaped death after their ski-boat capsized off Port Edward yesterday morning.

The National Sea Rescue Institute's Mick Banks, said NSRI Port Edward said rescuers responded to a distress call at the Main Beach after reports that the boat had capsized.

One man was taken to hospital and four others were not injured.
