Liquidations rise by 33percent

THE total number of liquidations recorded for June this year increased by 33,5percent year-on-year from the 6,8percent increase of May, Statistics SA said yesterday.

Liquidations in the first six months of this year increased by 36,2percent.

Insolvencies, meanwhile, fell 46,8percent in May from 23,6percent in April, while total liquidations in 2008 increased by 4,7percent to 3300.
