Fifty-SIX people were arrested in Katlehong, east of Johannesburg, for various crimes at the weekend, Gauteng police said yesterday.

Fifty-SIX people were arrested in Katlehong, east of Johannesburg, for various crimes at the weekend, Gauteng police said yesterday.

Two of them were arrested for murders committed on July 18, Captain Mega Ndobe said.

The motive for the killing was unknown since nothing was taken from the two victims, who were killed shortly after leaving a shebeen in Katlehong.

The other suspects were arrested for alleged housebreaking and theft, damage to property, possession of stolen goods, assault, robbery, drinking in public and being in the country illegally. - Sapa
