Three days before Telkom Charity Cup voting lines close, AmaZulu have dropped from the top of the chart and it now appears that they will not qualify for the four-team event on August 1.

Three days before Telkom Charity Cup voting lines close, AmaZulu have dropped from the top of the chart and it now appears that they will not qualify for the four-team event on August 1.

The top spot has been taken by surprise package Platinum Stars, who had collected 129157 votes by last night.

Having set an early lead, Usuthu have now fallen to a distant fifth on the leader board. The top order now reads Stars, followed closely by Orlando Pirates (124205), Kaizer Chiefs (118369), Mamelodi Sundowns (107284) and AmaZulu (103896).

AmaZulu's regression happened despite the best efforts of club spokesperson Philani Mabaso.

Downs spokesperson Alex Shakoane has appealed to supporters to make the call for the Brazilians, promising some great new players .

The draw for the tournament at Royal Bafokeng Stadium will be conducted in Johannesburg on Tuesday.
