Swaziland will enjoy a karate festival on Saturday when the Open Karate Tournament takes place at the Big Band Community Hall at 8am.

It is hosted by the Swaziland Kyokushinkai Karate Association. The aim is to develop the martial art in the neighbouring country.

South Africa will also be represented in both the men's and women's categories in the tourney.

Spokesperson Isaac "African Tiger" Mashinini yesterday said they had selected a solid team for the event.

The men's section has been divided into under-30kg, under-40kg, under-50kg, under-55kg, under-60kg, under-70kg, under-80kg and open divisions.

The women will feature in only two divisions, under-65kg and open weight. - Meshac Khotha
