This is how Maritzburg United chief executive Afzal Khan describes Rudolf Bester, their new recruit from Namibia.
Bester joined United from Namibian club Eleven Arrows.
The 26-year-old Namibian has penned a two-season contract at United with an option to renew when it expires.
Bester, who also had a spell with Serbian club FC Cukaricki Stankom, has 50 caps with the Brave Warriors, the Namibian national squad.
"Rudolf is a gem. We have been following him for sometime. We know exactly what he brings to the team," Khan told Sowetan yesterday.
"He is an extraordinary player who will be an integral part of our team. He will add an impetus we have been looking for in our midfield and a new dimension to the whole team.
"We fared badly in 2008/09 where we fought relegation, but we will be a different team this season.
"We will fight for silverware," Khan promised.
Bester, who was part of the Namibian 2008 African Cup of Nations squad, had a storming season at Arrows last term and deservedly won the Namibian player of the season award.
He can play effectively on both wings and is equally at home in the centre of the park or in front of goal.
Bester, who arrived in Pietermaritzburg yesterday, is the fifth player to have been snatched by Gordon Igesund's side in the close-season.
The others are defenders Byrone Hendricks and James Madidilane, Nigerian midfielder Felix Obada and forward Norman Smith.
Hendricks was signed from Supersport United, Madidilane and Obada from relegated Thanda Royal Zulu and Smith from SuperSport United.
The Team of Choice (United) hosts Wits in their opening Absa Premiership match at Woodburn Stadium in Pietermaritzburg on August 7.
United will also be able to use the Harry Gwala stadium in Edendale, Pietermaritzburg, in November after Khan revealed that construction at the ground would have been completed then. Khan revealed that the Harry Gwala stadium is receiving a R100million face lift.
