Bafana Ndlovu, 18, of Driefontein near Ermelo, was at the local Kambujeli Tavern on Friday when the police arrived at about 10pm and allegedly asked him to come outside with them.
Superintendent Abie Khoabane of the Mpumalanga provincial police said "once they were outside the tavern Ndlovu said a female police officer allegedly shot him in the right leg".
He said a case of attempted murder was being investigated. - McKeed Kotlolo
