Siemens opts for local man

SIEMENS South Africa's new chief executive Stuart Clarkson says the global recession doesn't threaten local operations - because of SA's prudent fiscal policies.

He replaces Siegmar Proebstl, who returns to Siemens in Germany.

The electronics company said Clarkson, who has been with Siemens since 1981, was well positioned to lead local business ventures. - Kea' Modimoeng
