Santos announced yesterday that Bright, a former army major in Botswana, tendered a letter of resignation on Tuesday and it was accepted. He had been with the club for close on two seasons.
The club also announced that it had since appointed its director of coaching, Boebie Solomons, as caretaker coach.
A statement released by chief operations officer Edries Burton and chairperson Goolam Allie said they were surprised at the resignation, but reluctantly accepted it.
"It's a bit of a blow to the club as Bright has done well during his tenure with us," said Allie. "We wish him all the best in his future endeavours as a coach."
Meanwhile, Matome Lebea reports that after failing to buy a Premiership club, Limpopo mining magnate Tim Tebeila gave his Vodacom League side, FC Tebcon to the club's administrators yesterday.
Lerato Molokoane confirmed that she was given 40 percent shares while her colleague Thandi Ratau owns 60 percent.
"We appreciate what Tebeila has done for us and view it as ploughing back to the community. We hope the club will grow stronger and bigger," said Molokoane.
