A SUSPECTED robber fled in a police vehicle yesterday while his suspected accomplices were being arrested at the Eastgate Mall, Ekurhuleni police said.
"The suspect was locked in a marked police vehicle while police were arresting his two accomplices who were suspected of robbing a man of an undisclosed amount of money," said Inspector Roelien Marais.
The car was later found abandoned on a side road in Silvamonte near Norwood, east of Johannesburg.
The man was still at large.
The two men arrested will appear in the Germiston magistrate's court today to face charges of robbery. - Sapa
