THE Vaalbank police in Mpumalanga have arrested a man who allegedly damaged his wife's furniture worth R80000 after threatening to kill her for refusing to cancel two protection orders against him.

THE Vaalbank police in Mpumalanga have arrested a man who allegedly damaged his wife's furniture worth R80000 after threatening to kill her for refusing to cancel two protection orders against him.

Francis Motsepe said her husband, Thomas Mojela, came home on Saturday night and went berserk, using an axe to chop up her new furniture and windows at their home.

Police confirmed the incident and said Mojela was arrested on Sunday morning.

Mojela appeared in the Mbibane magistrate's court on Monday. He was remanded and the matter was postponed to July 21.
