ABAYOMI Adebayo and Jermaine Christian are among seven players released by relegated Bay United as part of restructuring for their National First Division (NFD) campaign.

United's spokesperson Vuyo Mvoko identified the other five players as David Thwala, Sipho Khumalo, Sherwin Smith, Ignatius Makobe and Johannes Segalo.

Mvoko said they had also parted company with goalkeeper coach Pernell McKop.

This comes just a month after Umlilo let head coach Khabo Zondo go.

"Although those affected are still contracted to us until the end of next season we agreed to release them unconditionally to enable them to join teams of their choice. We will make further announcements about the rest of the players later in the week," Mvoko said yesterday.

Meanwhile, ambitious NFD side United FC have decided to sell their Vodacom Promotional League side Mangaung City so that their sole focus is on the senior side.
