'Lovemore Ndou will fight Briton next'

Berman has announced that newly crowned IBO welterweight champion Lovemore Ndou would now meet the English fighter Mathew Hatton.

"The date and venue will be announced soon. Lovemore is a warrior. He put up a great performance for a 39-year-old. I know he will pulverise Hatton."

Regarding another new IBO bantamweight holder, Simphiwe Vetyeka, Berman said this gifted fighter from Duncan Village in the Eastern Cape would definitely move up a division.

"He is pulling weight and that takes a lot of his energy and strength. I will speak to his trainer Welcome Ncita about it."

Thomas Oosthuizen, who won the IBO Youth title in the light heavyweight class, would in future campaign in the super middleweight division, Berman said.

Phillip Ndou, who lost to Lovemore, would also move a weight down.

"He showed a big heart by going 12 rounds with Lovemore - but Phillip is not a welterweight."
