A Durban couple has been shot and wounded in a suspected hijacking incident in Durban's Glen Anil area, according to paramedics.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said yesterday the couple was in a critical condition and had to be taken to the Umhlanga Hospital for treatment.

They were found in a Toyota Corolla that had crashed into an embankment on the R102. Police believed the accident occurred when the couple was attacked by unknown men.

Police spokesperson Superintendent Vincent Mdunge could not provide details on the case . - Sapa
