'The US has interests only'

IN FEBRUARY 1994, Foreign Affairs, a publication of the Council on Foreign Relations, ran an article advocating for the recolonisation of Africa.

Consequently, Canada's national daily newspaper, TheGlobe and Mail, editorialised about the recolonisation of Africa, echoing Foreign Affairs' sentiments.

The CFR is a private or secretive elite organisation in the US. All US presidents from the 1920s have been members, including Barack Obama.Speaking about Obama, he is reported to be walking in the footsteps of his predecessor George W Bush with regard to escalating the so-called war on terrorism and its attendant military expansionism on the African continent as part of a way of recolonising Africa.

It has been reported that the Obama administration is to maintain or increase funding for initiatives such as the Foreign Military Financing programme and International Military Education and Training programme on the African continent.

It is also continuing with the new US Africa Command which former Botswana president Festus Mogae unwittingly welcomed recently. The Foreign Military Financing programme provides loans for the sale of weaponry and other military equipment to a number of African countries.

The US is never imbued with altruism and philanthropy in its relations with other nations. One member of the US ruling inner circle Henry Kissinger once said the US does not have friends, it only has interests.

The US won't give African countries weapons of superior calibre that can be used to defend themselves against her or any other western nation. It will always give African countries obsolete weapons which African countries are going to use against each other and to suppress the will of the people.
