Bizos, 80, was admitted at Wits University's Donald Gordon Medical Centre in Parktown, Johannesburg, five weeks ago for an operation.
He was discharged 10 days ago and after resting at home is now back at his office at the Legal Resources Centre.
"I had an operation necessitated by medication I was taking, but I am feeling very well now," Bizos said yesterday.
The last time he was off work for this long was about four years ago when he had a bladder problem.
"I am going to take it easy for now," said a cheerful Bizos. "I have no pending court cases. I got many well wishes from people when I was in hospital and at my home. My house looks like a flower shop."
He said he was not considering quitting his job any time soon but has told "the young lawyers to be brave enough to tell me to pack my bags when they feel that it is time for me to quit".
Bizos is also a presidential appointee to the Judicial Service Commission.
