MEMBERS of the uMkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association yesterday threatened to make the Sedibeng region in the Vaal ungovernable.

Despite a police presence, the former freedom fighters stormed into the Sedibeng municipality offices in Vereeniging, demanding Mayor Simon Mofokeng address their grievances.

Mofokeng was not at the offices when the slogan-chanting members entered - and disrupted office staff.

MK veteran member Ntipi Seqaqa said they were angered with the way the mayor was running the region.

"Our members are unemployed and there is nepotism in this region. The ANC here has defied the Polokwane resolutions of looking after MK veterans."

Seqaqa said some of their comrades were sick and needed shelter.

"It is sad that today we are ignored by the ANC who we fought for during the struggle," he said.
