FLORENCE RAMOLEFE is in shock as she grieves her 12-year-old son who was tragically shot dead an hour after he arrived to visit his grandmother on Tuesday.

Her mother Elizabeth Ramolefe works as a domestic at the house in Parkmore, Sandton, where her employer allegedly shot Kgopotso of Zebediela in Limpopo after mistaking him for an intruder. But the devastated Florence does not blame the man.

Warren Vorster, 36, appeared in the Randburg magistrate's court yesterday where he admitted to shooting the boy.

"I'm devastated and regret his death. I was fond of him," Vorster said in a statement.

"His grandmother called me and said he was in danger and I was trying to protect him."

Vorster was granted R5000 bail on condition that he cooperates with the police and informs the investigating officer if he intends leaving the province or changing his address.

The case resumes on July 30.

"I lost a child but I cannot blame anyone for his death," his mother said yesterday while making funeral arrangements.
