Lira showed her other talent when she inspired more than 400 students at the East Rand School of Arts in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni, last week .
Snazzy in a grey, knee-length winter dress and black, body-hugging jacket and boots, she praised the students, who are mostly studying music, for their talent.
She told the excited students that she would adopt their school and work closely with "each and every one" to nurture their talents.
"You are starting your lives in a better way than I did. You are more fortunate because you are at this school. You can nurture your talent earlier. I have been looking for an opportunity to adopt a school and I know now in my heart, and my gut, that this is the school I am supposed to be with," Lira said.
She appealed to the students to respect and nurture their talent.
"Remember to respect, love and appreciate your talent."
Lira urged them to get an education before pursuing a career.
"Talent alone is not enough. You need an education to have a firm balance. An education allows you to use your brain. It gives you discipline.
"As artists, how will you manage your finances and important things like marketing without an education? Education is the only way that you will be able to deal with life and its problems," said the internal auditing graduate.
She said she was grateful to her parents for "forcing her to stay at school" and admitted that her journey to success was not easy.
"I wanted to give up many times. I asked God, why He give me talent and no platform to use it? Then I realised there were platforms. I just had to believe in myself and not be afraid to use my talent," Lira said. She encouraged students to live their dreams.
"I'm living mine. I've sat with respectable leaders and lunched with Oprah Winfrey. Dream big," said Lira.
