A POLICEMAN has been paying maintenance for five years for a child who is not his.

In fact, the claimant is not even the mother of the child.

The policeman's secret lover, Elsie Ntimane, 37, had stolen a child and claimed he was the biological father, he said.

Inspector Boikie Khumalo's (not his real name) had been paying R400 a month for his daughter's "maintenance".

But he demanded paternity testing and Joburg family court records show the pair underwent tests twice. Both were excluded as the girl's parents.

Both said Ntimane had fallen pregnant in 2002.

"I am certain she was pregnant," he said.

They broke up after that and he did not see the child.

We tracked Ntimane down in Mpumalanga.

"I still maintain the girl is my child," she said. "My ancestors swapped our blood to punish me."
