The six died during a tragic accident between their bus and a truck, which belonged to a company in Blantyre, Malawi. Three other people from the truck also died.
The residents of Botlokwa had threatened to boycott the bus company if management did not accede to their demand that they bury all the deceased, who hailed from villages in Botlokwa. They were on their way to work in Polokwane when the accident happened.
Spokesperson for the task team sent to negotiate with the company, Moloko Mothudi, confirmed yesterday that it was agreed that the company would provide six cows and six tents towards the burial.
The company is owned by the ZCC . Efforts to get comment from the management of the company drew a blank as the phone went unanswered yesterday.
