The news was confirmed by Benny Boshielo, chief executive of Limpopo Tourism and Parks , at a media briefing in Polokwane yesterday.
He said they have signed a two-year contract with Sail, owners of the Vodacom Challenge.
Boshielo's announcement will certainly excite many soccer fans in Limpopo, who are already in seventh heaven because the same venue will host this year's first instalment of the prestigious tournament on July 18.
The encounter will feature the expensively assembled yet average Manchester City and Orlando Pirates.
"We are excited and anxious about the fact that we will be hosting the final of a tournament of this ilk," said Boshielo yesterday, in the company of Premier Cassel Mathale and other provincial officials.
"It is good for us that we will get a taste of the Challenge for the first time in Polokwane [next month].
"I therefore appeal to the soccer-loving people of Limpopo to come in numbers and celebrate with us at Peter Mokaba Stadium on the day of the match."
Augustine Nethononda, Sail group executive promoter, could not confirm or deny that Limpopo will host the final next year.
"What I can tell you is that according to the contract Limpopo will host one of the matches, although it is not known which match they will host," Nethononda said.
Limpopo soccer fans will have an opportunity to watch City's Brazilian international Robinho, who is in the country with the Samba Boys for the Fifa Confederations Cup .
City, coached by Mark Hughes, also have quality players such as Brazilian Elano, Craig Bellamy and Gareth Barry.
Bucs will pin their hopes on the likes of Teko Modise, Katlego Mashego and Lucas Thwala.
