Supporters were told that Frenchman Henri Michel's successor will be announced before the team's pre-season camp. Caretaker coach Ted Dumitru, pictured, who was charged with finding the new manager said: "Our pre-season camp starts at the weekend.
"Right now, the players are just going through a loosening-up session."
Sundowns have been rumoured to be on the track of legendary Bulgarian Hristo Stoichkov for some time now, but yesterday - except for the return from loan of winger Fanyana Dhladhla - everything was practically the same.
There were also no sign of new players, and the Brazilian fans will have to wait for some time to find out whether there is any truth that Ajax Cape Town defender Eduardo Ferreira will be joining them.
Dumitru was non-committal on both counts, saying the club will make an announcement once a decision has been reached.
Dhladhla though expressed delight at being back with his former teammates. He had been loaned to Maritzburg United.
The former Free State Stars man's contract with Downs expires only at the end of the 2012 . "The decision of whether I leave or stay lies with the President (Patrice Motsepe). Maybe he still needs me, but I am back home now and I am looking forward to a good season at the club," said Dhladhla.
