THE current occupation specific dispensation negotiations are between the Public Health and Social Development Sectoral Bargaining Council and the Department of Health.

At the centre of the talks is the delayed implementation of the OSD for doctors, which includes career-pathing, grading and pay progression.

The actual salary increase negotiations are due to start next month.

The PHSDSBC is made up of the following trade unions: National Education Health and Allied Workers Union (Nehawu); Democratic Nursing Organisation of SA (Denosa); Public Servants Association (PSA); Hospital Personnel Trade Union of SA (Hospersa); National Union of Public Service and Allied Workers (Nupsaw) and the SA Democratic Nurses Union (Sadnu).

The earlier offer of 5percent that was rejected was meant for career and pay progression of doctors. The new offer due to be tabled today is for the same.
