Bafana GIVE MY IMMUNE SYSTEM BOOST

I WAS at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria when Brazil turned their crunch Confederations Cup game into a routine training session - a farce to be quite honest.

I WAS at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria when Brazil turned their crunch Confederations Cup game into a routine training session - a farce to be quite honest.

Three goals in seven minutes in the first half were enough to silence the Azzuri - as the current world champions are popularly known.

The capacity crowd on Sunday expected a tough match but as soon as the third goal kissed the net, the crowd became subdued and started doing the Mexican wave, blowing their vuvuzelas.

Some of the embarrassed Italian fans, who were seated next to us, left in dismay.

While the game was in motion it dawned on me that Brazil was Bafana Bafana's next opponent in the semifinals of this rehearsal of the World Cup that is to be hosted in our country next year.

Funny, we then started to plot "the downfall" of the Samba boys.

First and foremost, I have always kept my faith in our national team. As a matter of fact, the team that has been assembled now is probably the best our country has ever seen. In all the games that they have played so far they have displayed the most disciplined structure on the field - they do not crack easily. In the first game Iraq was lucky (excuse the pun) to come out with a draw. Even the best team in the world, Spain, did not embarrass us because one can actually see the great improvement and transformation that this team has gone through.

These boys have boosted my immune system immensely and I feel that it is imperative that we show complete support for all of them, including our coach Joel Santana.

One of our downfalls has been the chopping and changing of coaches .

When we attend our national team matches we don't do so as astute coaches but we are there to cheer and to give encouragement.

Actually Spain presents the best example for us because they have not achieved much in global football yet they never failed to try.

Today, when everyone else sings their praises, they forget that to put together a world conquering team is not child's play.

It takes time, tears and a lot of sacrifice.
