This was announced yesterday by Jerome Valcke, Fifa secretary general, following a meeting with Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe.
"I had a meeting with the deputy president to talk about the use of the World Cup facilities post-2010," said Valcke.
"We agreed that we have to work not only with the PSL (Premier Soccer League) but also with Safa (South African Football Association. The use of the infrastructure must benefit the communities. We don't want them to become white elephants after the World Cup in 2010.
"The deputy president is also very concerned. The South African authorities want to see all the stadiums being used after 2010."
Fifa president Sepp Blatter said communities must also come up with ways to make sure the facilities do not become white elephants.
"It's not only football or rugby matches, communities can also use the facilities for exhibitions and concerts."
