A YEAR after the sad loss of her brother, a Limpopo woman is fuming after a funeral undertaker allegedly refused to settle her claim.

A YEAR after the sad loss of her brother, a Limpopo woman is fuming after a funeral undertaker allegedly refused to settle her claim.

Phillipine Malatji of Mohlakone village in Bolobedu near Tzaneen has accused the management of Ndlovukazi Funeral Services of refusing to pay out the benefits as promised to her when she took the funeral cover.

She said the undertaker had also refused to pay funeral costs after her six-month-old baby died in 1997. despite the fact that she was up to date with her R70 monthly premiums.

Malatji said last year she suffered another blow when her brother Godfrey Malatji died.

The company also allegedly refused to provide money, tents and groceries which she was entitled to get.

Malatji said she had visited Ndlovukazi offices in Tzaneen to make a claim after her brother passed away.

She said the manager's secretary told her she was not going to be paid because the policy did not make provision for her next of kin.

Ndlovukazi Funeral Services manager Charlotte Ngobeni said yesterday the problem had been caused by their former employees.

"The company does not owe her any money," Ngobeni said.
