BRAZIL striker Luis Fabiano promises his daughters before each match that he will score a goal for them, no doubt as a "bribe" for his frequent absences.

The 29-year-old who plays club football for Spanish giants Sevilla did this again before Brazil's Group B Confederations Cup clash with Italy on Sunday - and fulfilled his promise twice over.

Fabiano scored two of Brazil's three goals - a goal for each daughter - and against the world champions, no less.

"I had told them that I will score for them and I was happy that I could," said Fabiano, who earned the man of the match award.

His confidence when facing the might of an Italian defence boasting Fabio Cannavaro, bordered on contempt. All this is part of a lifelong dream, as he revealed on Sunday.

"I had a dream and I try and live it every time I put on the Brazilian jersey. I plan to make use of every opportunity at my disposal," Fabiano said.
