Sick, tired of Cup

WHILE the rest of South Africa are caught up in the euphoria of the Confederations Cup, some cannot wait for the soccer tournament to be over.

There is huge excitement around the country since we are hosting some of the world's best teams on home soil.

Thulani Qalinge, of Bryanston, Johannesburg, says she is "sick and tired of the Confederations Cup and cannot wait for it to end".

Qalinge says she is irritated by the fact that normal TV programming has been changed to accommodate soccer.

Cebisa Ngonyama of East London says she is not particularly interested in the tournament.

Qalinge and Ngonyama agree that their negative attitude might have something to do with the fact that they have no confidence in the national soccer team.
