POLICE in Bramley, Johannesburg, have arrested two most wanted men they have been pursuing for more than two years.

The two allegedly have more than 80 cases between them.

"Police received a tip-off about their whereabouts.

"They went there at about 4am this (yesterday) morning and found the suspects sleeping at their homes in Alexandra," Bramley police spokesperson Moses Maphakela said yesterday.

He said their alleged crimes ranged from armed robbery, car hijacking, housebreaking and rape.

The crimes were committed in Bramley, Sandringham and Sandton.

The men are aged 31 and 32.

"The 31-year-old, known as 'Ma11', is also wanted by Hartbeespoort police after he skipped bail for a 2007 murder and armed robbery," Maphakela said.

"He should have appeared in February this year at the Brits magistrate's court but he disappeared."

Maphakela said police recovered some of the cars in Alexandra but were unable to arrest the culprits.

"We are delighted that we were able to nab the two men, especially "Ma11" because he is the mastermind behind these crimes. Our investigations revealed that he is the one who gives instructions," said Maphakela.

He appealed to all people who have been robbed in the mentioned areas to come forward.

The men are expected to appear in the Wynberg magistrate's court on Monday.
