NEW Kaizer Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic has declared that he is in South Africa to win titles.

NEW Kaizer Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic has declared that he is in South Africa to win titles.

The Serbian coach was unveiled to the media at Taung village in Naturena yesterday.

Vermezovic won the 2005-06 league in Serbia with Partizan Belgrade. He signed a two-year deal with Chiefs with an option to renew.

"I can promise you that this year, Chiefs will be better than last year. I'm here to win titles but will need the support of everybody," he said.

"I heard things about the organisation of African clubs, but was impressed by the set-up at Chiefs. Everything is in place, when I got to my apartment, I had a car and cellphone."

Vermezovic has familiarised himself with the set-up at Chiefs by watching recent DVDs of the team.

"Itumeleng Khune and Simphiwe Tshabalala had a good game [for Bafana] against New Zealand," he said.

"I will be meeting them after the Confederations Cup tournament.

"I don't know a lot about South Africa soccer but in 2006 I was in Cairo for the Africa Cup of Nations."

"The plan is to meet all the players and assess them in the next 15 days. I will also be working closely with the development coaches of the club."

Vermezovic will be assisted by Donald "Ace" Khuse, who is not new to the role .
