TOMORROW 12 years of waiting is over: the Springboks will look to shake off the rust and crush the British and Irish Lions at Absa Stadium, Durban, and build the momentum to win this series.

Bok coach Peter de Villiers has announced a squad with no real surprises. The biggest turn-up has been for Cheetahs flanker Heinrich Brussow, who comes into the run-on side in place of Schalk Burger, who is still battling a calf injury.

It's a well-deserved call-up for Brussow, who spent the Super 14 season harassing stronger teams at the breakdown, as well as against the Lions two weeks ago.

Brussow is joined in a very dangerous loose trio by Cheetahs captain Juan Smith and Bulls danger man Pierre Spies.

Despite the controversy around his flyhalf pick, Springbok coach Peter de Villiers has done exactly as he said he would, retaining Ruan Pienaar at No 10, with the uncapped Bulls playmaker Morne Steyn as backup on the bench.

More cause for concern for the tourists will be the selection of Frans Steyn at fullback, who can use his big boot to keep the Lions pinned back in their own territory, as well as launch drop goals from far out.

Bryan Habana and JP Pietersen will revive their World Cup partnership on the wings, joining a backline that oozes the class of Jean de Villiers and Adi Jacobs, while superlative scrumhalf Fourie du Preez will be in control at the base of the scrum.
