Teachers on strike

Striking teachers at a Free State school who are demanding the resignation of their principal were scheduled to meet with the provincial education department yesterday.

Striking teachers at a Free State school who are demanding the resignation of their principal were scheduled to meet with the provincial education department yesterday.

The teachers at Mmulakgoro Primary School in Botshabelo went on strike last week Thursday, said Monokoane Hlobo of the National Congress of School Governing Bodies.

"They say there is no cooperation between them and the principal, who they want to resign. But the principal said the teachers don't want to be subjected to school discipline," said Hlobo.

"Parents, teachers, and pupils have no right to expel principals." - Sapa
