Calling themselves Christians for Truth, the small group urged the government to provide job opportunities to lure women away from prostitution, which they said eroded the country's moral values.
"What will happen to South Africa if we continue like this?
"Who will be our future leaders if young people are sacrificed for prostitution?" the marchers asked in a memorandum.
The protesters said prostitutes argued that they earned money to send their children to school, which the group said was morally wrong.
The protesters said prostitution led to drug abuse, increased abortion and spread HIV-Aids.
Mkhize sent a senior official to accept the memorandum as he was in a meeting.
