WITH unemployment soaring we are fighting a war on two fronts.

WITH unemployment soaring we are fighting a war on two fronts.

On the external front we are fighting to retain foreign companies. If we win on this front we can advance to secure new investments and also investments of our own.

On the home front things are so intense that our domestic economy is overwhelmed by debt deflation in property and banking .

South Africa faces a recession the likes of which we have never experienced before and the situation demands that we fight, adapt and box clever.

We need to make sure that rural development and land reform, economic development and trade and industry departments are galvanised.

There is little point in saying that we were unprepared or that the army was allowed to grow fat and flabby during the boom years.
