MORE than 20000 people from around Limpopo are expected to converge on the University of Venda tomorrow to commemorate June 16.

The municipalities of Sekhukhune, Vhembe, Capricorn, Waterberg and Mopani have arranged to ferry young people to the event.

The event will start at 10am, with Premier Cassel Mathale delivering the keynote address.

"The rally will remember the oppression young people had to endure to attain freedom," said the ANCYL provincial chairman Lehlogonolo Masoga yesterday.

Masoga said this year the focus will be on encouraging young people to take up leadership posts in government, fighting unemployment and making information available for funding youth projects.
