Football followers who have not been able to obtain or cannot afford tickets for the Confederations Cup can go to Sandton City to watch the games for free at Ster-Kinekor, starting with Sunday's opening ceremony.

"Each cinema will be transformed into a festive soccer experience, with screenings of the Confederations Cup games live and for free," said Lee-Ann van der Schyff, Sandton City's communications manager.

"Tickets will be available five days before each match, limited to four tickets a person per game, and are on a first come, first served basis."

Van der Schyff added that the free tickets for all the Festival of Champions matches can only be collected at the cinema's box offices.

Supporters are encouraged to bring along flags and vuvuzelas, Van der Schyff said.
