'End to ID corruption'

"The new systems will turn Home Affairs on its head."

"The new systems will turn Home Affairs on its head."

This was the message from Deputy Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba, who promised Parliament yesterday that the new leadership would overhaul the corruption-ridden department.

Home Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma said she would embark on a campaign to register the birth of every child under 15.

Gigaba said this would prevent the kind of corruption that occurs when people apply for IDs later on.
