SOWETAN SHOWS STYLE

I hate product launches, especially the ones at which invited guests become the attraction - but that was not the case with the Sowetan re-launch.

I hate product launches, especially the ones at which invited guests become the attraction - but that was not the case with the Sowetan re-launch.

The motto "In the know and on the move" was not only evident in the new Sowetan but also typified the guests that graced the event.

The day started beautifully in fine weather and luxurious bus ride.

Everyone was kept in suspense for a good 10-minute drive to the still incomplete Midrand Gautrain Station.

But all was revealed on arrival, with guests being treated to loads of entertainment, food and some fine wine. The re-launch was host to scores of schlebs of the South African media industry scattered around the venue.

Kenny Maistry in his "Native" branded T-shirt was quick to acknowledge the changes Sowetan has undergone.

"It was time for the paper to be revamped for the market that epitomises black success," he said.

Oh, I wonder if Maistry is married. W e two gals would love a piece of that. We loved the re-launch. Halala.
