'River water not infected'

Following an accident in which a diesel truck allegedly spilled its contents into a river in Burgersfort last week, the Greater Sekhukhune District municipality has moved swiftly to allay fears the river might be contaminated.

GSDM spokesperson Willy Mosoma said yesterday preliminary results from laboratory tests done on the Steelpoort River had come back negative. He, however, advised people to take precautionary measures when using water from the river to avoid any exposure to contamination. - Frank Maponya
